Recital FAQ’S:
*Please ensure your email inbox is not full and that you are subscribed to our emails and texts!
Do I need tickets to both shows on Saturday? Also- if my dancers are in both saturday and Sunday shows, do we need tickets? Yes, tickets are required for each show. It is the same show twice on Saturday, meaning your dancer is in both shows on Saturday. Sunday is our Pre classes (ages 5&6) and Ready Set Dance Classes (ages 2-5)-followed by BBDC Show (competition students only) to follow.
Why are there two identical shows on Saturday?
Performing twice gives dancers a second chance to shine and show off what they’ve been working so hard on all year-building confidence, improving performance quality, and enjoying their time on stage even more. This weekend is designed to support their growth as performers.
Offering two performances also allows more family and friends to attend by providing flexible showtimes that accommodate a variety of schedules.
Does my dancer need a ticket? No, dancers do not need a ticket if they are in the show.
What about toddlers attending as watchers? If a toddler is sitting on a lap, no ticket is needed. If they require their own seat, a ticket must be purchased.
Where do I buy tickets?Purchase tickets here:
https://33970.danceticketing.
How does costuming work? We order a full range of sizes and have dancers try them on to ensure the best fit, rather than measuring and hoping sizes come in correctly.
What shoes do they need? Details on exact footwear, tights, and colors will be sent out as soon as possible.
Dressing room assignments: Dressing room assignments will be announced ASAP. We have staff that will stay with your dancer while they are waiting to dance, before during and after.
Do we stay the whole time? It is highly recommended for our curtain call. This is an important part of recital and shows support and respect for fellow dancers and their families. It also helps avoid disruptions caused by audience members leaving early/opening the doors and letting the light come in, distracting dancers and audience members etc. Be courteous. Remember, that could be your dancer on stage.
THEATER ETIQUETTE
Must read:
When entering the theater while the show is in motion, please wait until a dance has finished before finding your seat. This helps ensure you don’t block the view of families watching their dancer on stage.
We strive to create a supportive environment while also encouraging professional etiquette in our dancers. Being part of a performance includes not only being on stage, but also being a respectful audience member.
We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain an enjoyable, considerate, and focused experience for everyone.
TICKET INSTRUCTIONS
Hello Dance Families!
The Body Barre is excited to be teaming up with DRT Performance Tix this year for tickets to our upcoming performance of “Big June Show” on June 6th-7th, 2026.
Tickets can be purchased at this link:
https://33970.danceticketing.com
Things you need to know:
- For the best experience, use a desktop or laptop machine when purchasing tickets.
- Tickets are going to sell fast, so be ready to make your purchase when sales start on April 15, 2026
- If you are unsure which show(s) your dancer is in, use the Performer Lookup box at the top of the shows list to search for them.
- Bookmark your receipt when you are done, as that has a link to your tickets.
- Tickets can be printed or added to your Google Wallet for your convenience.
The DRT Platform is very easy, and you should have no problems making the purchase online to get the best possible seats. But, for any technical issues relating to purchasing tickets on the DRT platform, please give DRT Performance Tix a call at 706-550-1416. If you have any questions pertaining to you or your child’s involvement in the show that you cannot find on the PARENT INFO PAGE (https://thebodybarrestudio.com/information-for-the-big-show/) please contact us directly at thebodybarrestudio@gmail.com.
- Parents dropping dancers off: do NOT check in with your ticket until you are ready to enter the auditorium. Drop your dancer where they need to be, and then check in once you’re ready to enter and stay in the auditorium.
- You will enter the school and present either a printed ticket or ticket on your phone- if you have this you will enter the auditorium faster.
- If you did NOT purchase a ticket, there is risk of SELLING OUT and not having tickets available at the door. See “ticket sales” table when you enter the building.

FRIDAY
JUNE 5TH
DRESS REHEARSAL FOR SAT SHOW: LEVELS 1-4
- At Glens Falls High School
- Costumes/makeup/hair just like SHOWTIME!
- Show up with hair/makeup/first costume ON but covered with robe/dress/sweats etc.
- Carry dance shoes in do not wear them outside
- 5:00 pm doors open for DANCER ARRIVAL
- Walk your child to their assigned “dressing room” (see below) and then you may leave or enter auditorium to watch.
- PLEASE NOTE: If you are age 9+ and only in ONE piece, you will not have a dressing room and will report to the balcony seating where they will be before/after they perform and can leave their costume coverup and dance bag/street shoes) as a dressing room will not be needed
- We will run the entire show just like it is showtime! Full hair/makeup/costumes and in show order (with no intermission).
- We will run through the FULL STUDIO CURTAIN CALL quickly at the end- ANY dancer in the show is invited to participate in this, all ages/levels, they simply all enter stage as a group together from the back of the audience after Acro performs.
- From the CURTAIN CALL- dancers will be ushered off stage and back to their dressing rooms to collect their things and then depart with their parents. HAVE A PLAN for your child of WHERE YOU WILL RETRIEVE THEM as there are a LOT of moving bodies and no way to formally track children departing. For example- after the finale, my daughter knows to go back to her dressing room and sit there until I come in and get her. Maybe an older dancer will know that they will go get their stuff and meet out front of the school.
- We anticipate the Sat shows to be <2 hours, Sun shows ~1 hour.
- ~8pm: We will be providing pizza complimentary after the run through on your way out as always.
- Please exit the school promptly (costumes, etc. CAN be left in dressing rooms if you choose- do NOT leave anything in balcony)
SATURDAY
JUNE 6TH
- At Glens Falls High School
- Costumes/makeup/hair just like SHOWTIME!
- Show up with hair/makeup/first costume ON but covered with robe/dress/sweats etc.
- Carry dance shoes in do not wear them outside
11 AM SHOW:
- 10 am doors open for dancers: arrive JUST LIKE Friday’s Dress Rehearsal- report directly to your dressing room/balcony until you are gathered for your time to perform.
- PARENTS: there will be staff assigned to your child from 10am until the show completes. Please drop your child at their dressing room (ages 8 and under you may stay with your child in the dressing room if you wish, but we suggest getting them ready and heading to your seat!), ages 9+ we ask that you drop your child to their designated area to reduce traffic in the dressing rooms and retrieve them after the finale at the end of the show.
- No parents are permitted backstage at any time, if you want to watch the show you will need a ticket for a seat in the audience OR for ages 8 and under you can remain in the dressing room to receive them after they perform, please note you would NOT see their performance this way!
- The 11am and 5pm show are IDENTICAL, and all the dancers are in both if they are in classes levels 1-4 (pre level and ready set dance classes perform SUNDAY 11am only, all BBDC pieces perform SUNDAY 2pm only)
